![]() ![]() ![]() I really do think a healer is so so vital to how a party performs. You ever tried to maneuver mobs into the right position with Aqua Ball Esuna the gravity in Thousand maws (as long as they stay on the slime they wont be gravitied again) Sleep the Boss in Longstop during add phase or just sleep 3 adds on a rotation while still healing the DD and tanks Stone the mob that the archer happens to kite around while the rest of the party is busy on someone else It can be very interesting job to play. You can use its single target heal and save yourself some MP or you can just depend on it doing what it should. ![]() You can fully manage your fairy or you can let it do its own thing. Their fairies also each have an array of potent abilities to support the party, either providing burst healing (Eos has AoE regen and can also buff your and other healers healing potency by a whopping 20), or by increasing damage dealing potential (Selene has a haste buff for both DoM and DoW classes each).īeing a healer in most MMOs XIV was getting boring, fast in the beginning.but now.īut have not tried SCH yet, it looks A LOT more fun than WHM. SCHs have acces to a number of abilities to help mitigate incoming damage people are taking (Sacred Soil, Eye for an Eye, and their signature damage shields), as well as debuffs to reduce the amount of damage enemies deal (Ruin II, Shadow Flare, Virus). What they lose in brute force however, they make up for in mitigation. While their single target healing potential is top notch, they fall behind considerably in the AoE recovery department (and even that single target healing is somewhat dependent on Aetherflow stacks, which are tied to a cooldown). SCHs on the other hand are as much battlefield controllers as they are healers. Without a Bard around they have some problems with longevity in the MP department, but nothing so bad that youll ever feel underpowered or inadequate. Once youre around the late 40s or so (level wise) dungeons will start keeping you very busy.Īnd Ill just throw up some of my experience for those who are debating between WHM and SCH: From what Ive experienced, WHM is more of a classical healer (in design, not in playstyle) in that it is the class with the raw power behind its heals, and theyre also stronger in the AoE healing department. The game is very good about not only making you use all your tools, but making you use all your tools smartly. ![]() The games enmity system is very punishing to healers who are used to over healing.Īs an archer, I just had to concentrate on attack one (or two) targets. Scholar shields dont stack though, so alot of groups will run either 1 of each, or 2 white mages. ![]()
